NEW! 2008 Young Artists Competition

Join us as the Walden Chamber Players celebrates a new decade of great music-making! In our eleventh season, we continue to present a new concept of the classical concert, both in content and presentation. Drawing from a rich palette of sources and styles, Walden mixes and matches the works of both classical and contemporary composers with an eye to new understandings and discoveries. Flexibility in our ensemble configuration enables us to bring a repertoire to our listeners that offers a refreshing alternative to more standard concert fare.

Programming for the 2007/08 will feature an exciting mix of composers—Augusta Read Thomas, Alice Spatz, W.A. Mozart, Mario Davidovsky. Julia Scott Carey, Gerhard Schedl, Johannes Brahms, Larry WallachBernard Rands, Beethoven, Alfred Schnittke, Robert Schumann, Elliott Carter, J.S. Bach, and Isan Yung—and an eclectic mix of works.

This season you can hear Walden in new venues such as Trinity University inSan Antonio, Texas.; Albright College Concert Series in Reading, Pennsylvania; The Chamber Music Society of Bethlehem,Pennsylvania; new venues in Nyack, New York and Wolfboro, New Hampshire; and The Nantucket Arts Festival as well as more familiar concert locations closer to Boston. Don’t miss us!

"The ensemble treated the Schoenberg with riveting intensity as much as with loving care, outlining Bach's legacy clothed in Schoenberg's elegantly neurotic fashion—thrusting counterpoint, taut textures and sheer insistence."

— The Washington Post
